HM-AA100
Howell
3506100010
This premium sealant is produced from 100% silicone with a low modulus and an acetoxy cure, and it sets without shrinking. Moisture drawn from the air drives the acid-cure reaction, which is fast and leaves excellent mechanical properties, good elasticity and easy tooling, while extrusion stays smooth and the material performs across a broad temperature span. Because the modulus is low it moves with the joint instead of stiffening. Primerless adhesion comes on many common building materials including glass, ceramic, porcelain and wood, and the cured rubber stands up to weathering, chemicals and both temperature extremes; its dependable hold on general glass and aluminum alloys opens up aquarium structures and industrial jobs, along with showcases and display cases, aluminum window and door frames, and glass and tile joints.

Usage
AA100 arrives ready to use, a single-component acid-curing sealant that sets by pulling moisture out of the air, so nothing has to be blended or activated on site before the cartridge is opened.
Cleaning comes ahead of everything else. Its purpose is to clear away dust and oil, marks left by handling, and the loose oxide skin deposited during production and transport; to open the surface into a profile the cured polymer can key into; and to lift its chemical receptivity and its resistance to stress and weather. Isopropanol, methyl ethyl ketone or xylene serve as the solvent, on a white, clean, soft, lint-free cotton cloth. The two-cloth routine applies: wipe once in a single direction with the wet cloth, then follow immediately with a dry cloth before the solvent can volatilize. A used wipe never goes back into the solvent tin, which would spoil the clean liquid and weaken the result. Prepare only what can be sealed inside 1 hour, and do not leave a prepared surface open to the air.
Protect the surroundings with plastic masking tape so the seal line finishes crisp and even. Snip the hose end, fit the needle-nosed tube and cut it at 45° to suit the caulking size. With the gun loaded, keep that 45° travel and push the material into the gap so it presses tight to the faces. Should the seam measure more than 15 mm across, lay the sealant down in successive passes; afterwards shave the surface with a knife, clear the surplus and strip the tape, wiping smears away with a damp cloth.
For backing, closed-cell polyethylene or open-type polyurethane rods in polyole material are used; they hold the sealant off the third face of the joint.
Construction
Clean the surface of the substrate
(1) The purpose of surface treatment before gluing is to remove the natural oxide film contaminated with oil, dust, surface damage and loose on the surface of the substrate in the process of production and transportation, so as to roughen the surface of the substrate and form a surface shape suitable for the embedding of the mechanism, and at the same time improve the surface chemical properties and improve the durability under the influence of stress and environmental factors.
(2) The cleaning solvent is usually isopropanol, methyl ethyl ketone, xylene, and the cleaning cloth should be a white, clean, soft, and non-dehairing cotton cloth.
(3) Clean the surface of the substrate by the "double cloth wiping" method, soak the cloth with solvent, wipe the surface of the substrate can only be carried out in one direction, before the solvent is not volatilized, immediately wipe off the solvent on the surface of the substrate with a second piece of cloth with a clean dry surface.
(4) Do not put the soaked rag into the container for soaking, otherwise the clean solvent will be contaminated and affect the cleaning effect.
(5) Only clean the bonding and sealing construction part within 1 hour each time, and do not expose the surface of the cleaned substrate to the air for too long.
Bet
◆ Cover the surface near the interface with plastic tape. To ensure that the working lines of the seal are perfect and neat.
◆ Cut the nozzle of the hose, install the needle-nosed tube, and then cut it at an angle of 45° according to the size of the caulking.
◆ Install the sealant gun, keep the 45° angle along the gap to press out the rubber to ensure that the rubber is in close contact with the surface of the substrate. When the seam width is greater than 15 mm, it is necessary to apply the sealant several times. After gluing, trim the surface with a knife, remove the excess rubber, and then tear off the tape, if there is a stain, you can use a damp cloth to remove it.
Liner material
Open-type polyurethane or closed-cell polyethylene foam filler rods and polyole materials are recommended for padding. Prevents sealant from sticking on three sides.
Restrictions on Use
◆ Structural assembly is outside what this grade is intended for
◆ Surfaces that bleed plasticizers or solvents should be avoided, since the bleed degrades the sealant
◆ A fully enclosed cavity is not a suitable location: without airborne moisture the material will not set through
◆ Prolonged soaking in water is not a recommended service condition
◆ Direct contact with food is not part of the intended structural use
◆ Medical devices are not an application this product is recommended for
