HM-AA750
Howell
3506100010
AA750 is a high-grade acetic-cure silicone sealant engineered for glazing and sealing work on glass and aluminum alloys. Packaged in a 310 ml cartridge for easy gun application, this one-part sealant hardens by absorbing moisture from the air into a flexible, weather-resistant rubber. It delivers dependable adhesion to glass and aluminum, keeps its elasticity across a wide temperature range, and is a solid choice for door, window and bathroom sealing projects.
Good elasticity
Excellent mechanical properties
Acetoxy silicone
Wide range of temperature
Easy operate
Sealant grade: 12.5E
1. Surface preparation
Before applying the sealant, clean the joint so it is free of oil, dust, loose particles and the oxide film left from manufacturing or transport. Proper cleaning roughens the surface slightly, gives the bead a sound key to grip, and improves long-term durability under stress and weathering.
◆ Use isopropanol, MEK or xylene as the cleaning solvent, and wipe with a clean, soft, lint-free white cloth.
◆ Wipe in one direction only ("double-cloth" technique): wet the surface with a solvent-soaked cloth, then immediately follow with a second dry cloth to lift the solvent before it evaporates.
◆ Never dip a used rag back into the solvent container, or the solvent will become contaminated.
◆ Clean only as much area as you can seal within one hour, and avoid exposing the cleaned surface to air for too long.
2. Application
◆ Mask both edges of the joint with plastic tape so the finished bead stays straight and clean.
◆ Cut the cartridge nozzle, fit the applicator tip, and trim it at 45° to match the joint width.
◆ Hold the gun at 45° and force the sealant into the gap so it makes full contact with the substrate. For joints wider than 15 mm, build up the bead in several passes. After filling, tool the surface and cut away any surplus sealant, then peel off the tape. Remove smears with a damp cloth.
3. Backing material
For deep joints, insert an open-cell polyurethane or closed-cell polyethylene backer rod first, so the sealant bonds only on two faces rather than sticking to the bottom of the joint.
Restrictions on Use
◆ Not for structural glazing or load-bearing assembly
◆ Do not apply where plasticizer or solvent bleed-out is possible, as this can degrade the sealant
◆ Avoid fully enclosed spaces — the sealant needs atmospheric moisture to cure and will not set properly without it
◆ Not recommended for areas subject to permanent immersion in water
◆ Do not use on surfaces that will come into direct contact with food
◆ Not intended for medical-device applications
