JD495 is a colorless, transparent, low-viscosity, general-purpose instant adhesive that enables fast bonding. Begin with a clean bond area: the surfaces must be free of grease before adhesive is applied.
To raise the bonding effect on a low surface energy substrate, use the substrate treatment described on the page. Avoid applying too much of it, and let it dry after use.
If necessary an accelerant can be used. It is applied to the substrate side and allowed to dry.
Apply adhesive to the other side of the bond. Adhesive must not be applied to the accelerator surface, and tissue paper or brushes should not be used as applicators. Assemble the parts quickly, position them accurately and fix them without excessive adjustment.
Accelerators also help solidify excess product outside the bonding site; spray or drop the accelerator on the spilled part.
Hold the joint fixed or clamped until the adhesive is initially cured. Only once the adhesive has reached full strength can it bear load; depending on the gap between the adhesive layer and the adhesive material, typical full curing time is between 24 and 72 hours.
